In The Ould Ago, Illustrated Irish Folklore Book
After collecting folklore by tape recorder and pencil for 40 years Johnny McKeagney has published an illustrated book of Irish folklore last October. Sadly, he died on December 1st, only 5 weeks after he published his life’s work, though not before he saw his contribution recognized by the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese.
“In The Ould Ago,” which means a long time ago, features 200 pages of intricate hand drawn illustrations of Irish history, lore, stories, townlands, myth, legend and heritage. This hard back A3 publication will shortly be on display in a dozen university libraries in North America including Harvard, Notre Dame, the Library of Congress. and UCLA.
