English and Scottish Country Dancing on Thursday evenings
Seven Pipers & Tucson Friends of Traditional Music, together with other Tucsonans interested in folk dancing, have planned some live music social dances on Thursday evenings which will include English country dancing and Scottish country dancing to begin with and maybe some Irish ceili dancing later on. As of now dances are scheduled for December 14, February 15, and April 19, from 7-9:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 915 E. 4th Street. The cost is only $5, and some basic refreshments will be served. Instruction will be provided as needed so that complete beginners are welcome and would be able to participate fully. The dances will be called by Courtney Cartwright and Jim McConnel. You do not need to bring a partner. There will be some waltzes, but primarily this is dancing in sets of couples that reassemble each time. We will post dates as they are set under Coming Events.
