Darren Maguire Obtains ADCRG
Darren Maguire, who retired as lead dancer of Riverdance to start The Maguire Academy of Irish Dance in Tucson last summer, has added another feather to his cap. In addition to having obtained his TCRG, the certification required to teach competitive Irish dance under the rules of the Dublin, Ireland-based An Coímísíun le Ríncí Gaelacha, he has now been awarded the ADCRG certification, which qualifies him to adjudicate at Irish dance competitions. Congratulations, Darren!
This is a really big step up in the world of Irish dance; with his new certification he can now take his rightful place as judge at major Irish dance competitions and give instructive and informative feedback to the dancers who compete for his approval. This is a major sign of respect awarded to him by the men and women who choose who becomes certified and who doesn’t, and shows lot of faith in his ability.
It just goes to show that if you put your mind to something, it becomes achievable. If you want to be a dance judge, an astronaut or the next CEO of Aviva (www.aviva.co.uk) , it’s only a matter of working hard and getting the right qualifications, recommendation and reputation. We wish Darren all the best in his new venture, and look forward to him doling out the advice like Simon Cowell!
