Robert J. McCue, a life-long Joycean, will present a four-part lecture/discussion series, “Ulysses: James Joyce, priest of the eternal imagination, at the pinnacle” through The Learning Curve. Join Stephen Dedalus and Leopold Bloom in their trek around 1904 Dublin. Along the way, before you meet the wakeful Molly Bloom at journey’s end, you’ll note Joyce’s Homeric parallels, investigate his displays of technical proficiency, and assess his “scrupulous meanness” in his tour-de-force of artistic virtuosity.
Registrants, prior to the course start date, may view the text of Ulysses for free at bibliomania.com, purchase a hard-copy, new or used, through an on-line bookseller at a nominal cost, or borrow a copy from the Tucson-Pima Public Library. The series will be held at The Windmill Inn, 4250 N. Campbell Avenue from 9:30-11:30 am on Thursdays, March 18th through April 8th. The cost for the 4 sessions is $89.
Register at The Learning Curve.
